Astral Projection Drugs

Psychedelic

An informal, non-clinical label for substances users associate with out-of-body-experience-like effects — most often DMT, ketamine, and other dissociatives. This describes a subjective experience some users report, not a scientifically validated claim that consciousness literally leaves the body.

Example: Ketamine's dissociative, "left my body" quality is exactly why it's used recreationally for this effect and clinically as an anesthetic — same pharmacology, very different framing.
